🌸 During Women's Health Week 2023, we had the privilege of hosting Dr. Amandeep Hansra, who shared valuable insights into clinical study biases that have historically overlooked women's health.
Dr. Hansra highlighted that biological factors can make women more susceptible to certain conditions, including genetic predispositions, and pointed out the need for more research focusing on women.
In the drugs and therapeutics industry, women are often underrepresented in clinical trials. For instance, a study found only 37.4% of stroke trial participants were women[1]. This limited representation can lead to suboptimal or even risky drug interactions, as it overshadows women's unique metabolism rates and hormonal fluctuations.
By actively striving for better representation of women in clinical trials, we can deepen our understanding and support for women's health.
We extend our gratitude to Dr. Hansra for being a part of this vital initiative. Together, we're making a positive impact on women's health! 💪🌟
